5) Prohibited activities (no bots, scraping, or abuse)
You must not, and must not attempt to:
- use bots, scripts, scrapers, crawlers, or automated tools to access the Service (except normal browser caching and standard search engine indexing where permitted),

We may use technical measures (rate limits, blocks, CAPTCHA, etc.) to enforce these rules.
6) Your contributions (metadata, comments, submissions)
If the Service allows you to submit information (e.g., corrections, metadata, confirmations, comments), you:
- confirm you have the right to submit it,

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute your submissions for operating, improving, and promoting the Service (including creating aggregated statistics), in any media.
You can delete your account where functionality exists, but copies of submissions may remain in backups/logs or in aggregated/derived forms.
7) Third-party videos and ownership
Fishplate may display or link to third-party content (including YouTube videos, thumbnails, titles, and metadata). We do not claim ownership of any third-party videos featured through the Service. All rights remain with their respective owners.
Any paid or “premium” offering (if available) is payment for product features (for example, additional tools, customization, or convenience functionality) and is not a sale of third-party video content or a charge for ownership of data contained in those videos.
8) Intellectual property
The Service (including branding, design, text, code, and the way information is organised and presented, excluding third-party content and your submissions) is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or exploit the Service or its content except as allowed by these Terms or with our written permission.
9) Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy.
10) Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We try to keep things running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll take reasonable steps to notify users (e.g., by posting a notice on the website). Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
11) Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Fishplate may contain errors or omissions. Do not rely on it for safety-critical, operational, or compliance decisions.
12) Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
13) Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we believe:
- you violated these Terms,
- your use poses risk or harm to the Service or others, or
- we’re required to do so by law.
14) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws require otherwise.
