After arriving around lunch time into Niebüll i then recorded a few trains in this fascinating area, dropped my bags off in the hotel and ventured up to Westerland - a small island which is only accessible by train! A variety of motive power operate car & passenger shuttles including 218s, 245s, 247s (Diesel Vectrons) & MaK 251s. The weather thankfully turned out sunny later in the day enabling some good shots. In Westerlandi found a level crossing near the station to record the many shunts, arrivals & departures that cross here.
