43059 âLoch Shielâ & 43055 had worked the 1Z43 Swindon - Edinburgh âEdinburgh Christmas Pullmanâ on Tuesday and following returning to Swindon, the set arrived at Bristol East around Midnight, where it will be based until Thursday morning when it heads to Cardiff to work another âEdinburgh Christmas Pullmanâ railtour.
We then head to Bath, with the Christmas Market in full swing and bustling with shoppers, where today two railtours were heading for the area in conjunction with the Bath Christmas Markets. We see Freightliner 66951 + 66413 pass through with the 0F04 Westbury Down Yard - Stoke Gifford Freightliner Heavy Haul, and Colas back to back power cars 43272 + 43357 working the 0Z22 Bristol Kingsland Road - Derby RTC Serco before BR Standard 7P 70000 âBritanniaâ arrives at the head of Saphos Trains 1Z70 Dorridge - Bath Spa âBath Christmas Market Expressâ, hot on the heels of its appearance on Saturday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdtjgMWqRa4 with 57311 âThe Institution of Mechanical Engineersâ bringing up the rear.
Not long after, the second railtour to Bath is seen arriving with DB Schenker 67021 bringing the luxury Belmond British Pullman VSOE stock working the 1V80 London Victoria - Bath Spa.
We then head over to Yeovil Junction, where the third railtour in the region had operated to today. The Railway Touring Company âSherborne Christmas Carolâ had arrived with 35028 'Clan line' working the 1Z28 London Victoria - Yeovil Jn via Sherborne. While passengers were enjoying Christmas Carols at Sherborne, 35028 âClan Lineâ made use of the turning and servicing facilities at the Yeovil Railway Centre and we see the locomotive and support coach being turned and prepared ahead of the return 1Z29 back to London with WCRC 47484 bringing up the rear. | 04.12.2024
