Description
A small compilation of snowplough action from Winter 2023, this was the first time I have managed to catch these in action on the network having always been intrigued with the ZZA wagons so a big bucket list tick!

The first video shows Direct Rail Services 66434 & 66091 working a Class 7 test run down to Appleby and back during some of the most incredible weather, though it was hovering at around 1 degree this day so bitterly cold!

The second video was more of a failure, a Class 7 test run was planned between Crewe Gresty Bridge depot and Chester with Class 68 traction however this was cancelled at last minute. Interestingly, the convoy still left the depot, albeit with only one snowplough and running under '0ZCS' on the diagram vice the booked headcode... these headcodes are usually used for internal shunts from one part of Crewe to another, a local agreement with the signallers. 0ZCS is a light engine move with the 'CS' standing for 'Carriage Sidings' or 'Coal Sidings' - in this case the move arrived with ex TPE 68019 and 68020 heading from Gresty Bridge to the Carriage Sidings. Much later that evening they moved back from the Carriage Sidings to the Coal Yard to work a flask train southbound. It is truly, never dull in Crewe!

I do hope you have enjoyed this video, and if so, feel free to leave a like, comment and subscribe!
