Thunderbird 57010 Drags Failed Intercity 225 Set Working 5Z41 & 0Z99 7/12/24
After arriving into Doncaster as 1Q86 courtesy of 37421/425 departed, it was supposedly onwards to Cottingham to get the RHTT for the third time of the day, courtesy of 37116/254. However, after a quick scan of Railcam, it became apparent that 91111 had failed at York with a lack of sand, meaning a Thunderbird was dispatched from Newark in the form of 57010. After a VSTP was put in place for the Intercity 225 set to shift via Church Fenton towards Leeds, the only place we could get in time was Leeds. Due to the positioning of Neville Hill, trains are required to enter from the northbound way, meaning it had to switch ends at Leeds.
After getting on our train to Leeds, we were given a speed restriction to 40mph due to a fault with our train (a stupid azuma). This meant we were only just able to get to Leeds before the 57 arrived.
Upon arrival, 5Z41 was pathed into platform 12 at Leeds, pulling quite far down. The Thunderbird is then seen being detached from the 91 and, after a long wait, sent back to Newark - the 91 was able to go to Neville Hill under its own power, much to my disappointment.
