Colas 43257 & 43274 Work Yorkshire & Other PLPR Services December 2025 & January 2026
This one's the full PLPR breakdown over the last few weeks. Over the Christmas period, the NMT has been out of action as it was prepping for a new operations base at Leicester, this meant that the coloured powercars and the PLPR sets were brought back out...
Seen quite a few times, they are seen doing a wide variety of diagrams south and north of York, including the ever popular Yorkshire PLPR run as well ;)
First up, see 43257 bomb out of York at speed. This caught me off guard as it usually takes a driver change but this month it wasn't required so I started recording late.
Next, see 43274 lead out of York on the Hull to Newcastle monthly with wife tones. This shot turned out quite nicely even though there was a last minute platform change.
Then, see 43257 leading round the curve at Manors, with CC at the helm again with tones.
After this, see 43274 at full belt through Cramlington on the way back to Newcastle.
Next, after we missed it at Eaglescliffe, 43257 is pulled all the way down as booked from this driver then leaves with a two tone.
Then, 43257 is seen rolling off Donny with the monthly PLPR, our regular driver looking on from the second mans position this time round
After this, 43257 is seen leading through a busy Church Fenton, not being able to take its normal platform, it is sent to Colton to reverse.
Next, after reversal, 43274 leads back through Fenton, it caught me off guard as it was traveling at quite a speed, so I wasn't fully set up for it.
Then, see 43257 lead in and depart York with tones. This shot turned out as quite disappointing as I was using a different focus and it didn't work out very well.
Thanks for watching!
