DOUBLE STEAM at Bath Spa! Clan Line’s TRIUMPHANT RETURN + Black Five to Gloucester
Ian Riley’s LMS Black Five 44871 brought the Stanier magic leading the Railway Touring Company 1Z27 London Paddington to Gloucester ‘Bath & Gloucester Steam Express’, disembarking passengers from the WCRC Mk2 stock, before the onward journey to Gloucester. 47746 ‘Chris Fudge 29.7.70 - 22.6.10’ was on the rear.
Hot on the heals of the Black 5 35028 ‘Clan Line’ steamed in on her first revenue earning trip following intermediate overhaul, working ‘The Clan Line 50th Anniversary Pullman’ 1Z21 excursion from London Victoria to Bath, unassisted with the VSOE stock. She looked splendid as she made a brief stop at Bath Spa, before heading off towards Bristol East Depot.
We also see DC Rail Class 60046 ‘William Wilberforce’ rumble through on the 6Z53 Tytherington - Didcot Milton Sdg Fl and Freightliner 66515 on the containers | 27.04.2024
