Bescot Railway Yard (South) (Birmingham) on 16th May 1991
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of the southern entrance to Bescot Yard near Walsall taken on 16/05/1991. Class 31s seem to appear in charge of civil engineering trains, whils't AC traction appears on passing empty stock IC trains , even a class 87 is seen. Local EMU services to Walsall trundle pass every half hour, but the weather spoils the view a little. I hope this video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
This video captures scenes from Bescot Railway Yard's southern entrance near Walsall in May 1991, showcasing British Railways operations during the early 1990s. It features Class 31 diesel locomotives handling civil engineering trains, along with AC traction used on empty stock InterCity services, including a Class 87. Local electric multiple unit services to Walsall are also visible. The footage provides a nostalgic look at railway activity during this period, though the weather somewhat limits visibility.
