Whitacre Junction (W. Midlands) on 9th June 1997
+ Sutton park
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Whitacre Junction, just East of Water Orton in the west Midlands. A busy junction with a connection to Nuneaton and also towards Birch Coppice. Passenger and freight services were seen with Locomotive classes 31, 37, and 58 in Mainline and Transrail Liveries. Passenger trains were in the hands of Sprinters. I have tagged onto the end of this video a shot from Sutton Park, which was filmed earlier in the day and only managed to witness a single Class 37 running LE. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all that have subscribed and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
It features various locomotive classes including 31, 37, 58, and 68, operating under British Railways. The footage includes both passenger and freight services at a busy junction with connections to Nuneaton and Birch Coppice. Additional scenes from Sutton Park show a single Class 37 in operation. The video offers a nostalgic look back at this era of railway activity.
