Reading (Lower Diesel Depot & Station) in May 1999
This was more of a testing of some camera equipment I had kept back as a back up in case of equipment failure out in the field. I gave it a test at Reading Lower Diesel Depot on the 16th May 1999 and captured on film an everyday scene looking at the Berks and Hants line first and then the Mainline towards Didcot and Oxford. Later in the month I did a morning vies from the Cattle Pens to the West end of the station, capturing a few Thames Turbo's (165/166) entering the station and departing. This was also a very brief glimpse long before the station was totally redeveloped and before any sign of electrification. An absolute different view than it is today...
