London King's Cross
19th January 2010
A very joyful welcome to the next chapter from my video archive. The decade of the 2010's. At the beginning of that year I upgraded the digital video camera, to something much better. Giving a higher and better resolution and at last stereo audio, so the end results should be much better. Eager to test this new equipment out I made my way into London, to test out on 3 of the London terminis, this video is the second location from that visit. The proposed regeneration of King's Cross Station was in full swing at this time, and was only 2 years away from completion. Not only was the area being transformed, but traction wise was changing too. Fortunately the Class 91 and Class 82 DVT's were still speeding up and down the East Coast, and so were the Class 43 HST's in a new livery, "East Coast". Suburban Services were still in the reliable hands of Class 317 EMU's, Class 365 EMU's and also 321's. Hull Trains were running services to Doncaster and Hull with BR Class 180 Diesel Hydraulic Multiple Units "Adelante" with a top speed also of 125 MPH. Please note that King's Cross had a strict NO TRIPOD policy for photographers and the station was policed during special events, especially Steam Events, so I apologise again for some shaky footage. However If you enjoy the video please like and subscribe.
I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually.. Many thanks to all subscribers and for the likes, also to all those viewers whom over the years, have kindly shown an interest and appreciation in my material.
