Poulton Le Fylde Station on 1st June 1994
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Poulton le Fylde Station taken on the 1st June 1994. Located just out from Blackpool the line diverges to the Left for Blackpool North and to the right for Burn Naze. The same 3 loco hauled passenger trains from Blackpool were seen calling, that appeared in the Blackpool North video recently posted. The platforms look a bit neglected but then most Island platforms seemed to in those days. All adds to the atmosphere and if were not for the modern 2nd gen DMU's this could be a scene from the 1970s. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
The footage includes trains operated by loco-hauled services, with stock numbers 156429 (class 156), 158761 (class 158), and two class 31 locomotives identified. The station is located near Blackpool, with routes diverging to Blackpool North and Burn Naze. The platforms appear somewhat neglected, reflecting the era's conditions. The video provides a nostalgic glimpse into railway operations from this period.
Fishplate has identified 4 locomotives in this video. We’ve also matched 1 operator . Create a free account to see where they appear, unlock timestamps and locations, and view the full breakdown.
