35005 'CANADIAN PACIFIC' returns to steam after 14 YEAR OVERHAUL! + 34072 '257 Squadron' IN ACTION!

A great Sunday spent at the Mid Hants Railway for the long awaited return to traffic of Merchant Navy 35005 'Canadian Pacific'. The locomotive officially launched earlier in the week, and this weekend a special event was held to mark the triumphant return of the engine, which looked and sounded magnificent throughout the day, a testament to all the hard work undertaken by the team of dedicated volunteers to get her back in action. 'Canadian Pacific' hauled three special trips over the weekend, entitling passengers to one round trip departing at either 11.00, 13.00 or 15.00, while 34072 ‘257 Squadron’ courtesy of Southern Locomotive Limited was also in steam hauling standard timetabled services, prior to returning to the Swanage Railway for their forthcoming Spring Gala next week.

Enjoy all the action including a ride behind 35005 'Canadian Pacific' on the 13.00 departure from Alresford, and a run with 34072 ‘257 Squadron’ as it works hard to tackle the steep gradients along the line, nicknamed the Alps’ during a thoroughly enjoyable day!
