Banbury Station on 4th June 2010
On this very warm and sunny day I made a visit to Banbury Station on my way to Ipswich, and set my camera out by the awkwardly high fence in what was once the up yard. A few shaky shots as I could not get my tripod to raise high enough, but not too bad I hope. I witnessed the usual Class 165/166 "Turbo's" on the Paddington route and also Paddington to Stratford Upon Avon, also the "Chiltern" Class 168's on services to Birmingham and London Marylebone. "Voyager" trains are also seen on the "Cross Country" services north and south bound. The odd freightliner passed through the station in the hands of EWS Class 66's and the best captures were the Class 67 Locomotives on the "Wrexham and Shropshire" services, which ran out of Marylebone to Birmingham and Wrexham. Heading south was a double headed service being hauled by Locomotives 67012 + 67014 and at the end of this clip a north bound service being pushed from the rear by locomotive 67013. A grateful thanks to the staff, who allowed me to video from the old yard (PW Property) on this occasion. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read, and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually.. Many thanks to all subscribers and for the likes, also to all those viewers whom over the years, have kindly shown an interest and appreciation in my material.
