The NRM is has now completed a major redevelopment, so the Station Hall where the royal carriages are housed was open for the first time, and it was great to get back in and have a look around. The Great Hall and was also packed with grand locomotives telling the story of railway history and the Warehouse was a treasure trove of railwayana, easily somewhere you could lose yourself all day!
After a good look around for a couple of hours, we head back to the Station, where we see the Railway Touring Companies âYork Yuletide Express' returning after servicing, before the steam hauled railtour with Black 5 44871 sets off to Norwich. We also see GBRF Class 60 60002 'Graham Farish 50th Anniversary 1970 - 2020' on the DRAX wagons and Colas Class 37s 37099 âMerl Evans 1947-2016â and 37219 âJonty Jarvis 8-12-1998 to 18-3-2005â on the RHTT.
