East Lancashire Railway Spring Diesel Gala 2012
3rd + 4th March 2012

On a visit to scenic East Lancashire I captured on film The East Lancs Railway's Spring Diesel Gala. I was not disappointed as a nice variety of Locomotives were out and about with the addition of some wonderful countryside locations. The Diesel Hydraulics were represented in the form of Hymek" class (35) D7076. Class 14, D9556 (D9531) was hauling trains from Ramsbottom, the class 37s present were BR Blue 37109 and "Mirrlees Pioneer" 37901. A "Deltic" in BR Blue was also taking part 55022/D9000 "Royal Scots Grey" and 47 Class numbered D1502 (47402). English Electrics also present were 50015 "Valiant" and 20087 in BR Blue, as well as Class 40 D335 (40135/97406), which failed on her first trip to Heywood, but was kept running at the rear of the rest of her trains. This involved a few Locomotive run rounds at Rawtenstall and Heywood. Other Locomotives taking part were Class 33 (33109) looking very splendid in BR Blue. I did make quite a large feature length video of this event back in 2012, so this version has been heavily edited to keep the video to a more manageable size.
