Description
On 20th April 1996, Pathfinder Railtours ran "The Souther Coasterman" railtour featuring classic Southern Region motive power in the form of 33026, 33057 & E5001. 09025 was used to haul the train in to Brighton from Preston Park but is not seen in this video. The train left Bristol Temple Meads at a usual railtour standard time of the morning and followed a quite indirect route to Basingstoke - via Birmingham & Coventry - Didcot - where the 33s were replaced with the National Railway Museums lovingly restored 71, E5001, which took the train on to Eastbourne. From Eastbourne 33026 & 33057 hauled the train back to Bristol Temple Meads via Birmingham. All in all a jolly day out for all concerned!
