GBRF 66689 Evening Star & 66710 Karen Harrison leave the WSR with Inspiration Train + Santa Trains!
After a successful stay at the West Somerset Railway, today the Railway 200 Inspiration train headed back on its journey.
We saw it arrive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyAp_wge-zo&t=21s we got to look inside and we even got a main line train direct to the West Somerset in conjunction with its public opening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6W-pbNVTuk&t=263s but now it's time for the inspiration Train to head onto its next adventure to London Paddington, and some great traction was provided for the move.
With GBRF Class 66s required for various freight and engineering trains across the network, it wasn't clear cut which locomotives would be allocated to this move so it was nice to see 66710 âKaren Harrisonâ returning along with a new first time visitor at the West Somerset in the form of 66689 âEvening Starâ a very appropriate Swindon icon celebrity liveried Class 66 to take the train from Bishops Lydeard to London Paddington, with a stop at Reading Traincare Depot on route. 7828 âOdney Manorâ and 7812 âErlestoke Manorâ were also in steam on festive Santa trains during the afternoon. | 07.12.2025
