The FIRST EVER AERO LEGENDS GOLDEN AGE OF AVIATION air display event at COMPTON ABBAS! | 10.08.2024
Despite that, we did get some good action and movements with the opportunity to see the full Navy Wings heritage fleet in the air and a bonus movement of the rare Swordfish W5856, wearing its new D-Day stripes heading to the Blackpool airshow, and also had a weather window clearance for Isabel Rutland in her beautiful P-51D Mustang 'Marinell' as well as the Tigermoth display team and AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers landing and we were treated to a great finale with Charlie Brown putting Supermarine Spitfire T.9 (ex LF.|Xe) G-CICK NH341 'Elizabeth' through her paces!
Despite the low cloud and poor visibility that scuppered flying a bit yesterday, this event did provide a great opportunity to see the airframes that Aero Legends had pulled in for the event, as well as explore the vintage military vehicles on display, sample the well stocked bar and soak up a atmosphere in spite of the poor weather, and a very generous gesture that yesterdays tickets will be honoured for Sunday at no additional charge in light of the bad weather!
