92043 Commemorates 60 years since the initial closure of the Great Central Railway. Winter Gala 2026
2026 marks 60 years since the closure of the through route to London and Annesley locomotives shed, both significant pieces of GCR history. To commemorate the anniversary, visiting 9F 92134 was dressed as 92043 for the event. Running alongside 92043 was 34072 '257 Squadron' from the Swanage Railway. The gala also featured various double headers and goods trains, with the particular highlight being the pair of Austerity tanks.
The day wasn't short of ups and downs with camera issues first thing at Quorn. A big thanks to @DinmoreManorProductions and @PreservedSteamUK for making this video happen and redeeming the rest of the day which otherwise could've become less productive filming wise.
