Sunday 21st April saw the last Great Britain railtour of 2024. Operated by Railway Touring Company, the tour would cover Wales, England and Scotland. Hauled principally by 44871, 34067 'Tangmere' would take over one of the legs up North. 45407 would also be mainly paired with 44871 throughout. Due to a loco failure earlier in the week, and the platform at Swansea being too short to accommodate two locomotives and a 13 coach train, 45407 would split from the train at Landore. The loco would be stabled overnight before heading to Carnforth the following day. Whilst 44871 would work the return leg from Swansea to Paddington via Gloucester solo, with 47802 on the rear for assistance. Taken at Bishton, Undy, Caldicot Pill and Ponthir. Thanks for watching.
