Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip was taken from the path beside The Grand Union Canal overlooking the retaining wall at the entrance to Old Oak Common Depot. An excellent vantage point for in and out traffic to the depot and also at this time beyond the mainline could be seen the new Eurostar North Pole depot next to Wormwood Scrubs !. LE movements and ECS movements were seen as well as the Santa steam specials running around from Paddington and the S.W London area. A quick finish up at Mitre Bridge to see steam loco 80079 making her way over the GWML and canal. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories.
