73003 & TCs with 73107, 12th April 1993
The train is first seen at Bedhampton passing Mill Lane bridge. Before it appears, a South Central 4-CIG passes on a London Victoria to Southampton train.
73107 is then seen hauling the train between Portsmouth Harbour and Portsmouth and Southsea stations, followed by both locomotives seen operating in diesel mode shunting around the train at Fratton Depot, then leaving for Portsmouth Harbour.
Finally, 73003 is seen hauling the train out of Portsmouth from Burrfields Road bridge.
73003 was withdrawn in 1996 and is preserved on the Swindon & Cricklade Railway.
A private charter train consisting of two British Railways Blue 4-TC sets and hauled by locomotive 73003 "Sir Herbert Walker" was seen at Bedhampton, Portsmouth Harbour, and Fratton in April 1993. Due to control issues with 73003, locomotive 73107 was used for shunting operations between Fratton Depot and Portsmouth Harbour. The train was later moved out of Portsmouth by 73003. The footage includes scenes of the locomotives operating in diesel mode and passing through various locations along the route.
