On this day a drive round the M25 Motorway, took me to Byfleet & New Haw Station, where the Chertsey Line Joins/Diverges the London Waterloo to Basingstoke Mainline by means of an underbridge for the Down Traffic and a branch directly off the Up Slow Line for Up Traffic at Byfleet Junction. The other part of the triangle takes trains into Weybridge Station just a little further up the line from this station at Addlestone Junction (On the Chertsey Line).The third junction making up the Triangle is at Weybridge Junction, on the Mainline, just beyond Weybridge Station on the Down Lines. I made two visits on the day one from around 09.30 for an hour and again in the evening around 19.40 for another hour. On both ocassions I captured on film EWS Class 66s on freight taking the Chertsey route at Byfleet Junction and amongst all the EMU stock flying through the station, RTC's 'The Dorset Coast Express' with Steam Locomotive 4464 'Bittern' on her down journey from London Victoria to Weymouth and again, this time on her Up journey to London Waterloo in the hands of Steam Locomotive 34067 'Tangmere' . This take was a little unlucky as this is a risky shot with all the Mainline traffic going through and Yes I got 'Snookered' by an Up Fast EMU....Still it is a luck of the draw and I have been more successfull than unlucky with this choice of shot. You can't win them all eh !
