Barnetby Station (Humberside) on 17th May 2011
While I was visiting Yorkshire, I made a short journey over the Humber, to call in at a favourite location from over the years, Barnetby . The semaphores were still in place as were the signal boxes, Barnetby East and Wrawby Junction. In the 4 hours plus that I was there, I witnessed many EWS Class 66 locomotives as well as a couple of Freightliner Class 66s a Metronet liveried Class 66 (66720). A GBRf Class 66 passed through with GBRf wagons. Passenger services to and from Newark, Manchester Airport, Cleethorpes and Grimsby Town were in the hands of DMU Classes 153, 170 and 185s in a variety of liveries, such as Trans Pennine, East Midlands Trains and TP Express. A busy location still, but lacking the variety of different types of traction from back in the 1980s/1990s. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read, and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually.. Many thanks to all subscribers and for the likes, also to all those viewers whom over the years, have kindly shown an interest and appreciation in my material.
