BR in the 2010s Virginia Water Station + Trumps Mill Lane (Chertsey Line) on 13th + 18th May 2012
Virginia Water Station + Trumps Mill La (Chertsey Line)
13th + 18th May 2012
On the line out of London Waterloo towards Reading, via Staines is located Virginia Water, where the Reading line goes off to theRight and the Chertsey line branches off to your Left in the Down Direction. On the first visit to the station I captured on video "The Cruise Saver Express" on her return journey from Southampton Western Docks to Edinburgh, with DRS Locomotives 37602 + 37259 and trailing DRS Locomotive as before 47810 as the train rounded the tight curve from the Chertsey line. Other traffic were the 'Juniper' Class 444 EMU being used on the Waterloo/Reading via Ascot services and EMU Class 455s on the Waterloo to Weybridge/Woking via Staines, Chertsey. Class 450 EMU's are also seen along the route heading for Woking/Guildford again via Chertsey. On the second visit I witnessed the VSOE stock on The Golden Age of Travel (Luncheon Special) from London Victoria to Shalford, with Steam Locomotive 'Clan Line' 35028 in all her magnificent glory. About a mile out of Virginia Water Station on the Chertsey Line is a pretty location by the name of Trumps Mill Lane, where trains can be seen rounding the curve by the station and making their way along the line to Chertsey and Weybridge. I hope this video takes you back to the period with fond memories.
