Action from Powderham Castle Historic Vehicle Gathering + steam ban for the English Riviera Express!
Crash Box & Classic Car Club has been fortunate in having Club Members willing to volunteer in huge numbers to put this event on since it was started way back in 1975, and set in the picturesque grounds of Powderham Castle overlooking the Exe Estuary, we were blessed with fantastic weather and lots to see, including the steam parade, miniatures, tractors, military vehicles, classic cars, bikes stalls and much more!
Also included are some shots from Saturday evening, with Saphos Trains LSL operated 'English Riviera Express' which given the extreme heat, saw Class 47s 47830 + 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' drafted in to work in place of the advertised steam, owing to fire risk concerns. We see this railtour passing near The Swans Nest at Exminster before spending an hour around Cockwood Harbour where some traction engines steamed their way to a busy Anchor Inn! | 11 - 12.07.2026
