Nine Elms (Between Queenstown Road & Vauxhall) on 15th November 1990
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Nine Elms between Queenstown Road & Vauxhall on 15th November 1990. Standing roughly where the old steam depot used to be and beside Covent Garden Market this location offered a great vantage point of the mainline in and out of London Waterloo. Filmed in the early hour rush the constant stream of commuter trains into Waterloo and out required me to post this video practically un edited..I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
It shows commuter trains moving along the mainline towards and from London Waterloo during the early morning rush hour. The location, near Covent Garden Market, offers a clear view of the railway activity. The footage is part of an archive collection spanning from 1986 to 2001. The operators involved include British Railways, GBRF, and Intercity. The video provides a nostalgic look at rail operations during the 1990s.
