Going Loco in the North West of England in June & July 1994
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this feature is of my visit to the North West from June and July 1994. I was to capture on film the loco hauled trains running that summer from places such as Blackpool, Manchester, Liverpool, Southport plus the variety of traffic that could be seen on the WCML around Preston at that time. Class 31s and 37s were being utilised on these superb "Club Train" services and mainly were well patronised. Locations visited were St.Helens Central, Kirkham & Wesham, Fylde Junction and Farington Curve Junction in the Preston vicinity and also Southport. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories.
