York Station and NRM (Slideshow) on 17th + 19th May 2011
I visited the grand historic city of York in May 2011. I spent a couple of hours on the station platforms and under the spectacular curved arched roof. The Class 91 and Class 82 DVT's were the mainstay of traction speeding up and down the East Coast to and from London King's Cross, York, Newcastle, Edinburgh and North to Aberdeen, were the Class 43 HST wearing "East Coast" livery and Grand Central HST's are seen arriving and departing the Station and also several Class 158's in "Northern" livery. As for the freight scene, a lot of traffic mainly goes round the Station avoider, but GBRf Locomotive 66725 heads South through the station . A special train working was Pathfinder Tours The "Lothian Tornado" scheduled for Steam Locomotive "Tornado", but was instead hauled by Steam Locomotive "Duke of Gloucester" number 71000 from Sheffield/York to Edinburgh and in addition to all of this I have included a slideshow taken from the National Railway Museum in York, of some of the exhibits that are/were on show at the time. But that is not all, a movie of the fantastic model railway, a delight for old and young is also included at the end of this feature. So if you enjoy the video please like and subscribe and I hope this video takes you back to the period with fond memories. Please feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually.. Many thanks to all subscribers and for the likes, also to all those viewers whom over the years, have kindly shown an interest and appreciation in my material.
