Egham Station (Surrey)
21st June 2012
It is not often you get to see three special trains in around 30 minutes, but on this visit to Egham, I did just that. Captured on film were Locomotives 73205, hauling a special to Northfleet, with locomotive 66744 'Crossrail' trailing. Then 25 minutes later Steam Locomotive 4464 'Bittern' steamed past with The Cathedrals Express from London Victoria to the WSR and Minehead and then just five minutes later Steam Locomotive 70013 followed with The Swanage Belle, also from London Victoria making her way to Swanage on the Swanage Railway. That was not the end of this remarkable visit as a stone train from Eastleigh hauled by EWS Locomotive 66161 trundled through. Amongst all this activity service trains were not interrupted as 'Juniper' Class EMU's ran on the Waterloo to Reading route and EMU Class 450's on other services. I hope this video takes you back to the period with fond memories.
