A busy Afternoon at Eastleigh Station and Works
5th May 2012
This was filmed during the afternoon period between 13.40 and 15.00hrs with the arrival and departure of Pathfinder Tour's "The Hampshire Hopscotch" from Crewe to Eastleigh Works and Southampton Eastern/Western Docks. With DRS Locomotives 37409 "Lord Hinton" and at the other end of the stock DRS Locomotives 20308 and 20312. A rather windy but dry day and plenty of freight passing through hauled by either EWS or Freightliner Class 66s and a surprise DRS Class 66 on a Freightliner. In between all that there were the class 444, from and to London Waterloo and Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth and Weymouth, while "Voyagers" class 220/221 making their way to and from the Midlands and Bournemouth and Poole. A Class 08 (08495) in EWS Livery, now lying around on the NYMR, is seen on shunting duties in the yard. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories.
