A further installment covering the first year of the Deltic resurgence. on 18th October 1997 The Deltic Preservation Society ran a trip from London Kings Cross to Liverpool Lime Street and back via Doncaster, Leeds and Manchester Victoria. On the return 47780 was used to haul the train from Doncaster to Peterborough because there were concerns that D9000 was using more fuel than anticipated and there was a risk the loco would run out of fuel short of Kings Cross. There isn't a lot of video from me of this trip, likely due to alcohol distraction!
