Description
Mega...

Last November we had an attempt at catching the six monthly ultrasonic test to Scarborough, we watched 37423 get set up at Holgate and headed over to York Model Engineers, however, the breaks got locked on so the service was subsequently cancelled after we had been stood in the rain for around an hour. A huge blow. The set remained in Holgate with brake issues the following evening and had its full scedule for the rest of the week cancelled, its VSTP to Derby on Thursday even couldn't get out of Holgate. It finally left on the Friday back to Derby after a mostly unsuccessful week of testing. I managed to catch it testing its brakes on the Friday up to York Yard North whilst photographing 37419 arriving from Barrow Hill at Water End Bridge. Was happy I managed to see it in the end.

However, like with all tests, they can't just be forgotten when they are cancelled, they have to be re-ran. 37610 headed up one half of the recovery with a DBSO and then a few weeks later with 219. The recovery was booked to run through Church Fenton on the way to Holgate but sadly avoided it and took the full ECML from Donny. It was seen headed to Gascoigne and then back at both 3 & 4 platforms at York.

Also seen was the same set coming back from Ferme after tests down south.

Firstly, 37610 is seen ripping it wide at Long Eaton with tones, smoking how a true 37 should.

Next, 37219 is seen being signal checked perfectly at Church Fenton before opening wide headed Sherburn way.

After this, 37610 is seen annihilating York's foundations as it receives a single yellow aspect through the platform.

Then, 37610 is seen thrashing off York platform 4 headed for Scarborough with tones.

Thanks for watching! Lots of content planned for the next couple months ;)
