Ascot Station (Berkshire)
19th December 2012
Not far from the famous racecourse is the Railway Station at Ascot, offering direct services to London Waterloo, Reading, Aldershot and Guildford, plus plenty of racing specials for Royal Ascot Week. I gave the station a visit in December to capture on video 'Steam Dreams' Cathedrals Express from London Victoria to Worcester Shrub Hill, hauled by Steam Locomotive 'Britannia' on her outward journey as 1Z50. Amongst all the service trains were the 'Juniper' Class EMU's running on the Waterloo to Reading route and Ascot to Aldershot, also EMU Class 450's on other services. This video concludes the year 2012 and as we move onward into another new year's archive, of what I trust will feature some long gone railway scenes of interest and historical value. I hope this video takes you back to the period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read, and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually and If you have enjoyed this production, then please like and subscribe...
Other trains include Juniper Class EMUs and Class 450 EMUs operating on routes between London Waterloo, Reading, Aldershot, Guildford, and other nearby stations. The footage includes various services running through the area, highlighting railway operations in the early 2010s.
