+ SR West Country class 34046 'Braunton' stabling for a mainline railtour at the WSR.

We were blessed with incredible weather from the get go and equally stunning lighting conditions once the morning grey cleared, which made station hopping and following the gala stars around the line a breeze, beginning at Westridge, Bishops Lydeard, to view locomotives coming off shed, including 34046 Braunton, heading to Taunton to meet a mainline excursion to Kingswear, before drifting up to Minehead for a couple of hours of action, with highlights including ‘Lady of Legend’, masquerading as ‘Robin Hood’ performing an emergency stop to pick up some extra passengers, shuttles with the LBSCR Terrier and the LMS/ L&YR Saddle Tank, the industrial locos showboating for the crowds and much more!

We capture movements throughout the afternoon at Blue Anchor, Watchet, Williton, Crowcombe Heathfield and conclude with the visiting LMS/ L&YR Saddle Tank working the goods, bringing to an end a fantastic day at this event, which was a hive of activity with a comprehensive timetable throughout the day and plenty to see and do at every station!
