Matts Trains at Lincoln Central 24th February 2023
At Kings Cross I enjoyed the LNER lounge as I had a free pass from the LNER Perks scheme so I filled up on coffee and biscuits for my short journey up to Peterborough where I changed to an EMR service to Lincoln my first time riding a 156.
On arrival at Lincoln there are 5 platforms and services from EMR, LNER and Northern and of course some freight, I still haven't got round to studying all the services that call at Lincoln and where they go etc.
Class 800 Azuma - my first time on a diesel powered Azuma until Newark when it gets its power from the overhead line. Northern 197, EMR 156,170 and 158 and freight in the form of 66s and a 60.
However the LNER service terminates here from London and goes up to the sidings and waits the for approx 1 hour then comes back for the return to London. The Azuma even displays on the side Terrace sidings as its destination. There was plenty to see although it did get a bit cold and not much happening at one point but it was time to get my Azuma direct back to London and of course back at Kings Cross I had to take some photos there including my favourite Azuma Celebrating Scotland.
