#trains #thetrainguy #heritagetrains
One of the better days in Birmingham with at least 3 Steam tourist trains and 2 Diesel tourist trains running through the city on the same weekend.
On the West Coast Mainline, there was the LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 No. 44871 hauled The Cheshireman from London Euston to Chester.
On the unelectrified line between Birmingham and Nottingham, ran the Diesel Special Tourist trains hauled by Class 57 and Class 67 locomotives. The Northern Belle from Leeds to Wincester was hauled by Class 57 #57601 Shiela and #57313 Tracy Island. The Northern Star from Eastleight to Leeds was hauled by DBC 67 which was marked with DB (Deutche Bahn).
The above trains were captured at Tamworth Upper and Tamworth Lower, where the line to Nottingham passes above the West Coast Mainline. Later, I headed back to Selly Oak near University of Birmingham and captured the following Steam trains.
The Lickey Banker Morning Train from Worcester Shrub Hill to Tyseley Warwick Road was hauled by GWR 4073 Class 7029 Clun Castle. The same coaches went to Worcester and back as the Lickey Banker Evening Train hauled by the 1938 built LMS Princess Coronation Class 46233 Duchess of Sutherland.
There are a few clips of Avanti West Coast at 200 kmph through Tamworth and a cross country crawling through Selly Oak.
It includes steam and diesel trains running on the West Coast Mainline and between Birmingham and Nottingham, with locomotives such as Class 57 and 67 featured. The footage was recorded at locations including Tamworth, Selly Oak, Chester, Euston, Leeds, and Nottingham. The video highlights various train services, including the Northern Belle and Northern Star, with headcodes identified in the metadata.
