Description
BRITISH RAILWAYS IN THE 2010's
Severn Tunnel Junction Station (S.Wales)
(Cyffordd Twnnel Hafren)
21st April 2013
A journey over the new Severn Road Bridge, took me into beautiful Wales, and the interesting station of Severn Tunnel Junction (Cyffordd Twnnel Hafren) in the capturing on film Steam Locomotive 34067 'Tangmere' hauling RTC's Great Britain VI on her second day out of a nine day tour of Great Britain. On this day she had travelled up from Newquay - Plymouth - Bristol Temple Meads, where Steam Locomotive 34067 took charge for her onward leg to Cardiff Central. The station footbridge here offers a superb view of the tunnel mouth and the new road bridge over the River Severn in the not too far distance. DMU Class Arriva 142/143's are seen on shorter services, while FGW HST services to and from London Paddington/Cardiff are seen calling at the station in regular passenger duties. DMU Class 170's are on the longer routes, coming from the Gloucester direction. The Freight that I witnessed were a pair of EWS Class 66's (66124 + 66?) and also DRS Locomotive 66431. I hope this video takes you back to the period with fond memories and feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read, and greatly appreciated.
