Colas Snowploughs move with 56311 + 56302 + DC Rail Stone at Merehead with 56045 + 56103 & MORE!
Then later on Tuesday evening a rare treat, following the RHTT departing Fairwater Yard on Monday, the x2 ZZA 10 Network Snowploughs which left earlier in the year ADB965240 + ADB965217 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSm2mrketWE were brought back by sandwiched Colas Class 56s 56113 and 56302 ‘PECO The Railway Modeller 2016 70 Years’, working the 7258 Wolverton Centre Sidings- Fairwater Yard.
We catch up with the Colas Grids on Wednesday at Taunton where they leave one plough in the tamper sidings and head back to Fairwater Yard, before splitting and pushing the other plough down to the far end at Silk Mills before the pair form back up and heads off for Coleham LMD.
Later in the day we head over to Merehead Quarry, where a second pair of Grids were in action in the West, BR Liveried 56045 + DC Rail 56103 working the DC Willesden DC Rail Sidings - Merehead Quarry aggregate. Having arrived early, the wagons are seen being loaded before SW1001 EMD 44 ‘Western Yeoman II’ moves them back and the DC Grids run round in the sunset and finish our coverage with a smokey departure, pushing the loaded stone train back to Whites Crossing ready to head back to Willesden DC Rail Sidings in the fading light.
