On the Saturday of the August 1996 Bank Holiday weekend, Hertfordshire Railtours ran "The Quantock Crompton" rail tour hauled by a pair of slims, 33202 & 33208, from London Paddington to Minehead on the West Somerset Railway. The route was out of London via Newbury to Westbury & Taunton then crossed over to the West Somerset Railway by the link at Norton Fitzwarren. On the return the train was headed by D7523 from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard and then 33202 & 33208 back on to the main line, returning to London Paddington via Bristol, Bathampton Junction, Hawkeridge Junction, Heywood Junction, Newbury & Reading.
