24th - 25th April 1993
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of The Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line) with their 1993 Spring Diesel Gala held on 24 & 25/04/1993. Featuring a good selection of locomotives such as witnessed steam locomotive 6F number 30506. Representing the diesels were class 27 D5353, 37220, 50007, 50027, a very smokey 50031, 50033, the star of the show has to have been "Deltic" D9019. I visited the depot and station at Ropley, the station at Alresford and Medstead and Four Marks station. including a roadside shot of Ropley Bank at Ropley Soke between the stations of Medstead and Ropley. The grand finale was the triple headed class 50 train at the end of the event. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories.
