Description
A great Saturday spent at Dalton Barracks in Oxfordshire for the Abingdon Air & Country Show today. The event featured a great mix of classic cars, military vehicles, steam traction engines, tank rides and an afternoon of air displays.

With the Trooping of The Colour Kings Birthday Parade and Flypast taking place in Central London today, the Abingdon Air & Country Show flying display benefited, firstly with no less than x4 Chinooks under the callsign ONSLAUGHT from RAF Odiham, heading for the capital in formation! Dalton Barracks was also near the dispersal route as participating aircraft broke formation, with the heavier airframes heading back to RAF Brize Norton, and we were treated to a glimpse of the Vespina Voyager ZZ336, as well as a flypast from Atlas A400M ZM402, and a real treat of C-17 Globemaster III ZZ171 landing at the event!

Previously, civil registered aircraft and helicopters have been able to fly in to the event but due to a change in regulations only military aircraft can now do so, and so only the C-17 was permitted to land today but that certainly drew a crowd and captured peopleโ€™s attention when it came on and was opened up to the public, before departing to close the show just before 16.30!

We also see a host of other displays, including the Royal Air Force BBMF Lancaster B1 Bomber PA474 which had also come direct from the Kings Birthday Flypast, the gracious B-17 Flying Fortress G-BEDF Sally B, Navy Wings Harvard, a pair of Gazelles and much more from a great afternoon and the weather, despite a nagging wind, stayed dry which made the day!
