Reading Station on 9th March 1995
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 We launch into this new year 1995 with a look at Reading filmed from the CE siding to the West End of the Motorail Dock. (Opposite to where the old West Signal Box used to stand) I managed to see the regular HST's heading west and the "Thames Turbo's" too. A special with A4 No: 60009 "Union of South Africa" departs out of the station with FSS Railtours "The South Yorkshireman". I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
It features British Railways operations including HST services heading west and Thames Turbo services. The footage includes a special train with A4 No: 60009 "Union of South Africa" departing the station. Other locomotives identified in the video include classes 165, 166, 37, 43, and 47. The recording provides a nostalgic look at railway operations from that era at Reading and Hope.
