Edinburgh Waverley Station on 19th January 1990
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of the much awaited for clip (First of several to come) of Edinburgh Waverley Station. Perhaps one of the most iconic stations I have visited, certainly in Scotland during this decade. Sadly missing is the distinctive drone of the "Deltic" but at least we hear the un automated announcements and scream of the HSTs on their many duties out of the Scottish Capital. I hope this video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.

It features locomotives including classes 156, 43, and 47, with mentions of unautomated station announcements and High Speed Train services operating from the Scottish capital. The footage provides a nostalgic look at railway activity at one of Scotland's most iconic stations during this period. Some operators associated with the era are noted, though specific headcodes are not included in the record.
Fishplate has identified 3 locomotives in this video. We’ve also matched 5 operators . Create a free account to see where they appear, unlock timestamps and locations, and view the full breakdown.
