Quadruple steamers at speed
As we watch West Coast railways class fifty seven zero zero 8, ease her precious cargo into the Barrow Hill loop, welcome, to this edition of Giant Freight.
We see the most spectacular quadruple steam move, the likes of which, we will never see again, as British India Line leads, Scots Guardsman, Sierra Leone and four four nine three two through Slittingmill, heading back to base, Carnforth Steamtown.
At the same venue DB Cargo, Freightliner and GB Railfreight provide double headed class 66 action, while the latter is also responsible for a triple consist from Crewe Basford Hall and a Top and Tail, doing a Barrow Hill circular.
Class 50 zero zero eight Thunderer rattles onward to Derby, a day late, but we start with the magnificent Deltics crawling into Barrow Hill.
