Colas Rail Class 37/4 Hauled Test Trains Late February & March 2026
Over the last week or so there have been a number of class 37 hauled test trains around the Doncaster area. I have compiled the clips I have gotten over the last week.
Firstly, the video starts with the monthly 1Q86 PLPR diagram. I have become quite disappointed with this working over the last few months and wasn't initially going to go for it until 37405 and 37419 were allocated, then I knew I was going to go out for it. This month was a breakthrough, as I did some research and managed to get some good power on both of the passes I managed. Unfortunately my mic was still receiving its 3 week overhaul so the audio on these two clips is from an internal microphone therefore there is a bit more background noise as a result.
Then, when 37421 and 37425 were allocated to 1Q53, I knew I had to make a chase out of that. Starting at Donny, we caught it powering off the CHS. We were then going to catch the working at Thorne North but the tractors went straight through their booked stop at Hatfield and ran early. We raced it to Gilberdyke instead and it was very tight, we were approaching the station as they got the green out of the block before the station! Then, we headed over to Bentley to catch 37419 yet again on more Yorkshire duties on an Ultrasonic, powering straight through. Then we headed to Hatfield and finally Kirk Sandal where we got some great noise from 37421, 37425 sounding a little sick on the front.
A good outcome!
Firstly, with horns blazing 37405 leads 37419 past a foot crossing in Gainsborough, going from a red to a green signal.
Next, 37419 is seen getting underway from Gainsborough Lea Road with thrash and tones.
Then, 37421 is seen erupting out of Doncaster.
After this, 37421 is seen obliterating Gilberdyke, sounding spot on.
Next, 37419 is seen smashing past Bentley heading to Wakefield to reverse.
Then, 37425 leads slowly through Hatfield with 421 now trailing.
Finally, the tractors are seen making a racket out of Kirk Sandal slow.
