34046 'Braunton', 47593 + 57311 on the ENGLISH RIVIERA EXPRESS! + D7018 BACK IN ACTION on the WSR!
Due to the long period of dry weather and the risk of lineside fires, today the diesels 57311 ‘The Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ & 47593 'Galloway Princess' (proudly sporting it's new Intercity Exec livery) were kept at each end of the train with Braunton added to the front at Taunton.
After the railtours departure, we head over to the West Somerset Railway where the Diesel & Electric Preservation Group Class 35 Hymek D7018 made a welcome return to action today for the first time working solo, following a period of repairs, working the 'John & Margaret Anniversary Special' Quantock Belle private charter between Bishops Lydeard - Norton Fitzwarren and back onto Minehead, returning to Bishops Lydeard just before 7pm.
Our final scenes show the ‘English Riviera Express’ railtour returning from Devon, where Braunton reverses back to the WSR, while 47593 'Galloway Princess' & 57311 ‘The Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ make an impressive sight heading the railtour out of Taunton back to Woking.
