Description
BRITISH RAILWAYS VINTAGE TRACTION
BR Class 33 Locomotives in the Pre-Digital Age
(1986 - 1994)
Volume BR33-01
This is the third feature in a series that I have decided to create, while I slowly recover my Archive collection in full, after the cyber attack on my computer.
The BRCW Type 3 Locomotive Class 33 fondly known by enthusiasts and staff as 'Cromptons', built between 1960 and 1962. They were mainly seen all over the South East and as far West as Meldon Quarry on the edge of Dartmoor. For some years during the late 1970s and early 1980s several of the class were based at Crewe to work the Mid Wales services. South Wales saw 33's on parcel duties and of course passenger duties on the Cardiff/Bristol/Portsmouth route via Westbury. The WOE route saw the class working the line from London Waterloo/Salisbury/Exeter and during the Channel Tunnel Construction the class were heavily deputised on spoil workings. This feature see's the class at work in Kent, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Devon.
This feature covers the period from around 1986 to 1994. I do hope you enjoy the feature and please comment and like, if you feel the video was of some enjoyment and nostalgia to watch.
I will return to my present series BR in the 2010s as soon as possible, it could be sometime yet and as I am getting acquainted with the new editing suite, you may well come across some dodgy fades and transitions. Thank you all so much for your kind messages and of course for your patience, which is always appreciated.
