Basingstoke Station (Platform Shot)
28th June 2012
Another visit to Basingstoke, this time in the evening from the station platforms, in order to capture on film the return journey of "Steam Dreams" "Cathedrals Express" from Worcester Shrub Hill to Salisbury with Steam Locomotive 60163 "Tornado" in charge. I also witnessed the usual normal running of EMU traction in the forms of class 444 or 450 running to and from London Waterloo, Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth and Weymouth, while DMU traction of classes 159 were on the Salisbury and Exeter route plus a 158 DMU. "Voyagers" class 220/221 making their way to and from the Midlands and Bournemouth are also seen. There were a few Freightliners being hauled by either EWS or Freightliner Class 66 Locomotives. GBRf Locomotive 66744 "Crossrail" made an appearance. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read, and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually..
